The director of medical services at the Royal Commission for Jubail, Dr. Muhammad Al-Muqbel, explained that there are substantial reasons behind lifting the partial ban on commercial activities starting from Wednesday, foremost among which is the leadership's confidence in the citizen in adhering to the instructions and preventive measures, in addition to knowing the virus centers and surrounding them in various regions of the Kingdom, as well as the desire to Reducing the economic, social and psychological impacts that call for the gradual lifting of the ban.
During the meeting organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Business Council in its branch in Jubail (Thursday 30/4/2020) under the title "Health reserves to be taken in the commercial establishments of workers," the next doctor expressed great optimism about the general situation in the Kingdom, which he described as currently going through the "summit" stage In the fight against the epidemic. Pointing out that the stages of virus activity are three (escalation - summit - refraction), and the Kingdom in the second stage (summit)
He attributed the increase in the number of injuries in the Kingdom to the active survey of places of high risk (random neighborhoods, labor housing, crowded places).
Almugbel pointed out during the meeting which moderated by Deputy Council Chairman Eng. Muhammad Al-Qahtani that the global epidemic affected 3 million and 200 thousand people in the world, about one million died, about half a million recovered, and for us in the Kingdom, the number of injured people reached 52 thousand, 161 died, and about 361 people, and in Jubail, the number of injured reached 453 cases, 10 of whom recovered, and nearly two of them died.
He explained that the health system in the Kingdom succeeded in trapping the virus, as concentrated care is able to absorb cases of corona infection and took strict and courageous measures, and he did not approach the method of "herd" which many countries incurred heavy losses due to this method, which depends on allowing the virus to spread and infect everyone and then Obtaining immunity ... indicating that the risk of corona lies in the rapid spread, while the death cases did not exceed 4% - 5% in the Kingdom, while the death rate of SARS virus reached 10% and the Middle East Syndrome 15%, stressing that the majority of cases of corona infection in the Kingdom In the elderly, or those who suffer from a lack of pain Obesity, or people with chronic diseases.
He pointed out that the Kingdom has a pioneering experience in dealing with viruses. During the period 2002-2008, it dealt with the Karuna virus, which ended and became ineffective, and in the year 2015 we passed the Middle East Syndrome virus and also ended, and viruses usually end either with the presence of a specific vaccine, or that the virus Himself mutates and its danger ends, and now we are in a new experiment with this virus, whose seriousness lies in the speed of its spread. He also talked about many measures that should be taken at the present time after opening commercial centers, on each of (the customer, employee, materials, store or warehouse), most of which revolves around a commitment to all of the aforementioned precautions, stressing the need to support the work option from the distance, especially for the groups that can do chores from homes
He stressed the issue of worker housing and said that a special team has been formed in this regard to monitoring the situation in Jubail, which includes representatives of companies and contractors whose goal is to implement the procedures to be observed in the workers housing, and that the authority is in the process of preparing a health quarry for workers to follow up on positive cases to isolate them from the rest of the workers Because any positive situation will require examining all contacts close to it.
Regarding the late appearance of the examination results, he said that this is due to the great pressure on the laboratories, as not every hospital performs this examination because of its seriousness so that one of the hospitals took this step, and a positive situation emerged that required the hospital to be closed temporarily, but with the recent deal with China, the examination period will be shortened.
He denied that the health authorities carry out sudden surveys on homes, and if they become, they will be arranged in a better way, but the survey continues on high-risk areas.
He explained that there is no medical supervisor or clinics for small companies other than large companies, considering that the pandemic gave a lot of lessons, which necessitates studying it after the end of the epidemic.
